The Algarve

The Algarve on the south coast of Portugal with its sandy beaches and friendly resorts and good weather all year round has become one of the most popular holiday destinations in Europe. In all tts 100 miles of beautiful beaches and attractive towns and villages beaches picturesque Carvoeiro is one of the best.

Casa na Colina is on a hill on the edge of Carvoeiro village, only 1000 m away and 600 m inland from the ocean. GPS co-ordinates are lat: 37.1039, long: -8.4792.

Carvoeiro was once a sleepy fishing village but has now become the perfect holiday resort for families as well as couples and holiday makers of all ages. In the middle of the village Carvoeiro beach is in a safe, beautifully sheltered sandy bay and spreads out just in front of the village square with cliffs protecting it on either side. Between Casa na Colina and the village sandy Paraiso beach is surrounded by high cliffs. Only short distances away are many other beaches, some even nicer – Caneiros, Pintadinho, Praia Grande, Centinaes, Carvalho.

Within walking distance there are dozens of restaurants, bars and cafes to suit all pockets and tastes, and only slightly further away one or two restaurants looking for fine dining. The village has lots of shops for food and drink , take home souvenirs and things you need for beach and poolside..

And there is lots to do round and about within easy reach. Footpaths along the cliffs, a delightful walk from the village along a wooden broad walk to Algar Seco with steps down to look at caves, boat trips from the village beach, a water park called Slide & Splash a couple of miles away.

Beautiful Silves, the historic capital of the Algarve under the Moors can be reached by car in fifteen minutes, and the breathtaking cliffs at Sagres the south west corner of Europe, is less than an hour. The Monchique mountain with views down to the south and west coasts is in easy reach.
